MY LITTLE TAPESTRY PRAYER PILLOW

Capturing the quality of the fleeting experience

There was something about that divine little orange flower. It had a certain way about it that turned my head as I walked in the botanical gardens. When I looked at it my heart just skipped a beat ~ and I was suddenly and unexpectedly happy!

I did my best to capture that with my camera and then later to stitch it into the soft little prayer pillow that sits now on the dresser beside my bed. I know some of its specialness has been lost in translation but it still feels divine to me, still turns my head and makes my spirit sing all day long.

And now this little flower is all soft and warm and I can cuddle it when I am meditating and run my fingers along those longggggg stitches to all the little dots at its centre.

When you find an object, or an image of an object, that touches you with its divinity choose a way to actively engage with it. Make it a metaphor for your journey. Be renewed and nourished by making it part of your everyday life. Dance it, Sing it. Embroider it. Photograph it. Paint it. Engage with it. Wear it.
